The headwaters of the River Evinos are in Vardoussia; the river then makes its way to the Patraic Gulf. Despite being an Olympic kayak slalom course, this is another great option for beginner rafters. The end of the trip is capped off with a view of the impressive Bridge of Chani Brania. Chani Brania is the closest village for accommodations but Nafpaktos is another popular option because of its quaint Venetian harbor and ancient castle which towers above the city.

From Ano Chora you can visit some less frequently visited spots in the mountainous Nafpaktia such as Perdikovrysi, the man-made Evinos Lake, the village of Platanos and the single-arch Bridge of Artotiva which is an architectural gem dating back to the 15th century.
