The Crişul Pietros is one of our favorite rafting rivers. It has some of the most technically difficult rapids in Romania, clean water, and a narrow river bed. Spring is the best time to plan a trip on the Crişul Pietros. The river starts in the Bihor Mountains, at the junction of the Bulz and Galbena Rivers and ends when it flows into the Crişul Negru. The river has sections classified anywhere from level II to level IV, keep in mind that classifications change depending on the water level. Rapids can reach 2 meters in height. For a two day trip, we recommend combining your trip on the Crişul Pietros with a trip down the Aries or Repede Rivers.
