The Mures is the second longest river in Romania after the Danube. It flows through Transylvania from the Hasmas Mountains through the Gheorgheni Depression before separating the Calimani from the Gurghiu Mountains. The Mures Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in all of Romania, offering unforgettable scenery for paddlers.
The Mures River is an ideal place for beginners, or for those who want to gently paddle while enjoying natural beauty and crystal clear water. The Mures has several medium (0.5-1m high) rapids. The river is long enough to allow for a two day paddling trip. It is in close proximity to the Targu Mures International airport and to the E60 road.
