Rafting in Bosnia

River Vrbas is a fast mountain river, with several white water sections. Just 11 kilometers from Banja Luka, the Vrbas was Home to the 2005 European Whitewater Rafting Championship and the 2009 World Rafting Championship. It’s a fast mountain river with several challenging white water sections. It flows through the Tijesno Canyon (5 km) and the Podmilacje Canyon (8 km). The 31 km from the Bočac dam to the Banja Luka center can be used for recreational rafting. The rapids on this stretch can reach Class III-IV depending on the water level. Recreational rafters and expert sportsmen alike will also enjoy the Class I-II rapids along the river. The water temperature in summer usually is over 17°C.
